Xblade Gallery & Description of the Artistic vision behind the Blades
The Xblades are hand drawn blades that were created in a way that represent the various evolutionary pathways in the Xscape game. While this is not explicitly explained in the details of each layer, they are all linked in the background to the game design of Xscape. This means that every Blade has its own representation and meaning within the Xscape universe, yet also maintains a complete uniqueness through the random trait generation. Therefore, we were also able to appreciate the natural combinations that were generated, that create their own unique style and feel. The backgrounds are also linked to real locations within the game's world, with the Tavern being a place that is shown in two different instances, since it's the core social area we intend to create. The main goal of the artwork is to be original, detailed, colourful, and consistent with what we create over the years, as we intend to make our oldest collection age well and grow into whatever we are building around it. We chose not to follow traditional rarity structures for this collection, as the Xblades do not merely represent a weapon, but the individual who wields it. An Xblade is the metaphor of a unique individual who has grown through their own struggles and challenges, honing their particular strengths into a formidable blade. For this reason we released all layers with equal chances of being generated, this also increases the possibilities and variability of the blades. Total combination possibilities for the Xblades exceed 2 billion. For our rarity structure we created what are called pearlescent blades, with those having a 10% chance of being minted, they are made with all completely reskinned layers from the base collection, all having equal chances as well to be generated. These have a distinct difference in the saturation and colour of the artwork. We have also created 1 of 1 animated pieces for every original version of each type of Blade as a Legendary. All but 4 were added to the minting pool, available for random community members to stumble upon these treasures while minting. There are also 6 void blades that were scattered in the minting pool, these blades were created to fill the gap since there was roughly 5.468 Xblade that was burnt by community members by mistake. These void blades represent the blades that have come back from the void.
